After his parody song “Oh Wow” became a trending topic on social media, Michael V. clarified that the track is not intended to take a swipe at anyone but to remind content creators to produce better contents.

The comedian composed the track using the tune of “Uhaw” by indie-alternative rock band Dilaw, as seen in a performance video on Michael V.’s Instagram page last July 30.

“Kahit ‘di kaya pinilit/ kahit na pangit pwede na ‘tong i-po-po-po-po-post/ Eh ‘di oh, wow, eh ‘di ikaw, trending ka now/ ‘Di aayaw, kahit ano, kahit sabaw/ Ang babaw ng pananaw/ Collab pa rito, penge naman ng followers mo/ Ang masasabi ko lang ‘Oh, wow, oh, wow,'” a part of the song goes.

The comedian then spoke about the public’s positive response to his parody song, in an exclusive interview with GMA entertainment reporter Nelson Canlas for “24 Oras” on Tuesday, Aug. 1.

“Ang dami yatang naka-relate. Nagiging toxic na rin kasi ‘yung mundo ng mga content creators ngayon,” Michael V. said.

“‘Yung mga content creators, dapat alam n’yo ang ibig sabihin ng salitang content.”

Michael V. added that aside from content creators, he also dedicates the parody song to himself to remind him to always improve his craft.

“I’d like to say it’s a reminder—hindi lang sa kanila, pati sa sarili ko. Sana maka inspire tayo ng generation na, ‘Ah, hindi pa pwede, pwede pang pagandahin,'” he told Canlas.

Michael V. also commended the Dilaw band for their passion for their craft as he underscored, “Sana lahat gano’n. Sana lahat uhaw sa excellence.”

Last April, Michael V. also gave his two cents about content creators and said, “The first thing any ‘content creator’ should understand is the meaning of the word ‘content.'”  /ra
